Hello

As a child I've always loved writing. From essays to short stories and mini books, writing was something I knew how to do. Then I developed this loved-hate relationship with it. The thought of creatively expressing myself through words any way I wanted to was awesome. However, all the rules sucked the fun right out of it. Something I once loved so dearly wasn't exciting anymore,  and I was only left feeling inadequate after every piece. The pressure to create the perfect body of work intensified.

 

Fast forward to life as a Journalism university student, writing again was my strong point, allegedly. Yet, I struggled so hard because I wanted everything to be perfect. Everyone including lecturers praised me for my writing but I couldn't see the greatness and potential I had.

 

Low and behold I was ready to throw in the towel, I mean who would continue to do something that makes them feel inadequate. But I had the chance to intern at a local company wherein my main job was to write articles. Go figure! Like any other time I was nervous by the challenge, but once I began the easier it all became.

 

What really changed my perspective was seeing the power my words had. I was able to take responses from an interview and transform it into a story that captures the essence of the interviewee and their business. To see how proud many of them felt to have an article written all about them, is what makes this so thrilling.
